Ok gents, I'd like to offer something up in return for all the free info I've got here. I bought this thinking I could convert it into a small surface grinder, but I have neither the time, nor the required skill to do so. So I'd like to give it away if any of you would like it.

Hammond #4 Tool Grinder with Diamond Wheel

Tilting table, flood coolant setup with light and stand

1/2 hp 220V, 3 phase Dayton motor w/ forward and reverse

It's in Altadena, California, 91104. Whoever wants it, can have it! Shoot me an email: 00Surly-- AT -- gmail --DOT-- com.

This little grinder is made to grind carbide tool bits like you would use in a lathe, also you can sharpin high speed tool bits on it. The table tilts so it puts the under cut on the tool and if you have the angle slide you can set the cutting angle. I used one a lot where i used to work great grinder if you have a use for it.

Thanks guys! The other side of it (which you can't see in the photo) has a second shaft coming off the motor. It has a"knee" adjustment plate and knob, but the table and grinding wheel are missing. It looks like it came from the factory with the ability to surface small pieces on one end and grind bits on the other.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find ANY information on the thing, nor am I skilled enough/have enough time to fabricate the parts it would require.

Oh well!

how about donating it to a school or a vocational school in your area.. maybe a higschool shop class..Just a suggestion...:)
