In my field jacket at work or in my patrol vehicle I carry an Edgemaker Pro and some knife maker business cards. Every week I have someone ask me to sharpen their knife with just a good field edge or so. Some folks have had me do this for a number of years, and usually for their yearly deer hunt, etc. It only takes a minute or so, and the person is happy as a new puppy. No charge, quick, and it keeps your name out there in the hunter and outdoorsmen circles. For the 6 or 7 bucks I pay for them,it has really paid in dividends. Most the mentioned folks have a difficult time sharpening knives, from the condition of some of the knives handed to me. I have been given antler and wood on occasions for the free service, such as one large operator farmer that rents thousands of acres. He and his hired help keep their eyes open for antlers while working the fields, saving the antlers for me, mostly sheds. Dave Larsen has seen some of my piles of antlers, and was kind enough to haul some away for me so I could make room in my old shop.
