Things I did not like ..
Thumb stud is overly trick and function suffers for it
The grip , the way it curves up front crowds my index finger
Cross bar safety , the springs are cooked and not really springs any longer .
Factory edge at the rope = 100 slices fail ..

D2 Blade = Is hard , my 65 HRC file skates 3 out of 4 attempts ..

Re sharpening is a PITA .. With the guided knife sharpener .. Keep getting a false edge .. Hard steel is hard to sharpen .
I hope to not go straight to the wet stone grinder .. I really wanted to save this knife for the new 80 grit wheel I ordered .

Update !
I put the blade to the wet stone grinder ! ( 60 grit )
I just could not get the blade sharp enough otherwise .
It's really hard and apparently tough steel .. ( one can hope )
Took about one hour to clean up the Factory BS grind . And with the wind chill out there , Im cold to the bone !

What to say ?
A very disappointing return of a 150 slice fail ..

I put the knife to my first budget guided knife sharpener and reformed the bevel with 180 grit diamond & then cleaned up the burr with a 800 grit oxide ..
3rd times the charm ? I just dont know ?

Could be just bad juju for blade steel ?

Almost any D2steel I’ve had, seems to do worse and chip under 20dps. I’m sure others will say different, but that’s Ben my experience with it.
At 20 do’s it gives me a long lasting edge. YMMV.

Hmmm , the steel is hard .. Is it hard enough to be brittle ? And there for suffer greater wear ?
I put the knife to my first guided knife sharpener ( almost a free hand guided knife sharpener - as you have to locate / hold the knife in place by hand )
So it wears a new 22 deg edge .. 180 grit Diamond , then 800 grit oxide to clean off the burr ... Then stropping ...
This will be the 3rd bite of the apple or should that be Rope ! Lots of rain about today , rained most of the night .... So ? when it actually gets the 3rd bite !
This is the same edge that most of my better D2 do around 450 ..

Wow !
This knife just keeps disappointing !
I but my go to edge on this knife VIA my 1st guided knife sharpener .
180 grit 22deg bevel , cleaned up with 800 grit oxide and then stropped .
Result was a 150 slice fail .
The blade is hard , really hard .. Too hard .. Was the steel over cooked ?
Does it need to be annealed ?????????/ Anyway .. Disappointing .
