Hi I just became a platinum member and thought I would post my latest find. It's an old barrel quill knife marked on the 3 cutting blades Freidmann & Lauterjung celebrated cutlery. I have been looking for a barrel knife for along time and was am glad I finally got one.

Comments welcome please, Mike

Congratulations on that great find and upon your platinum membership Mike

I have never seen such a beauty!! I wonder if we could see more pictures? If you do offer us more views, can you make them as large as possible.

Thank you is advance and I look forward to seeing more of your collection.

What on earth is that? I have never seen the like before, it looks fascinating. Does anyone else have any examples they can share? Can anyone shed some light on the mechanics?

Paul

Congrats on the membership.

That is a far out knife. Is there a barrel knife being produced today? I've never seen one.

Wow, that's cool. Was this made by their German sub-contractors? I've seen similar old Sheffield knives, but not many.

View attachment 362760Not sure if it's German made or not. I have seen many Sheffield made ones but this is the first one that I have seen not marked Sheffield. I am trying to buy this one that is pearl and hope I can make a deal for it. Bill Clausen of Northwest knives and collectables at one time had a collection of these but am not sure if he still does. I will email him and get his take on it.
