I visited my first blade show yesterday, in Gembloux (Belgium), featuring knife makers from Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Hungary, Russia, Sweden, ...
I had a plan: i wasn't going to buy anything, just look and learn. I had two reasons for this: i haven't got the budget right now to buy fancy customs (and i don't want to get the knife accumulating virus) and i like the whole downsizing and keeping it simple philosophy.
I must admit i failed... I haven't bought my absolute favourite (a magnificent $1200 hobo knife!), but i did buy a very nice - and a lot more affordable - french friction folder by Mathieu Callejon, with buffalo horn handle and carbon steel "brut de forge" blade:
