I was brousing a recent issue of Tatical Knives Magazine. There was an article on the the French Para Survival Knife FPSK. Is anyone familiar with this folder.

I read that in Tactical Knives too. This was talked about earlier, actually. No one so far has seen these, but we all want them! Steven, you wouldn't happen to know how much these bad boys are, would you?

I stand corrected if the article was in Tatical Knives. Thanks for the correction.

I've never checked the price but one reader told me it was around $150. I did handle the knife John Larsen used for the article. It certainly is a heavy duty design. Very massive.

If I remember, there was an email address provided at the end of the article. Bretex something, I think? I did a search, but could not find a source.

Steven, Javier,
Thanks for the feedback. There was an email at the end of the article. Bretex@free.fr Havent gotten a response yet. I appreciate your comments on the knife. As I work in the field, I am looking for a solid, sterdy, multi- purpose knife. Do you recall what the handle material is?

Jay

Yep, I asked about it a few days ago. Here's the address:

Bretex

Bretex@free.fr .

I tried the E-mail, and got no response:(.

Reading the article, and looking at the knife it would make an excellent outdoor tool:).

Hi Beaver,

The handle is Aluminum:).

Here's a link I found to a French site which briefly describes the knife in question.
http://flight.gear.free.fr/knive.html

It's been translated from français to anglais, when you access it click where it says: "The Knife of the "Commando of Air."

That's a great-looking knife, but of course it's French, so of course it's got to have a corkscrew!!!

I just got a reply from Yann Chauty (aka Bretex). He has passed on my request to cutlerytogo, the importer of ths french piece of work, along with the same link Tightwad has posted. According to the web site, it should be available the beginning of April.

Just thought I'd post that for $125. you get alot of knife from the FPSK and the response from Gary @ cutlerytogo was tremendous. The packaging he provides is a piece of work in itself! It truly is a beefy knife, rustic does sum up the finish but pure military might be better. Comes with a thick green leather sheath that fit s the knife snugly.I like it!
