Just bought a small, (3 inch blade) French Trade Knife from
TWO HAWKS. http://www.2hawks.net/index.html This is a great knife. It's truly an elegant piece. Its a 1700s period piece and is historically accurate. Its made of 1095 steel and fitted with a beautiful, curly maple handle. A rustic finish is left on the blade which is quite remarkable. It has an appearance somewhat similar to Damascus, and adds a lot of charm to the knife. The blade came razor sharp. This knife isn't just a "pretty" period piece. I've already put it to some hard use on two trips to the desert here in California. It performed perfectly and the blade resharpened easily to its original edge.

I've always taken several knives and a hatchet to the field. During the last year I have reduced that to a Next Generation, Roger's Rangers Tomahawk (American Tomahawk Company)

and a small knife. This combination has met my every need so far and is a lot less cumbersome than the larger collection I carried around for years.

Thanks Two Hawks, and also Andy prisco at ATC !!!

Thanks for the write-up, Jon. I am familiar with the quality & attention to detail that Two Hawks puts into his tomahawks and would have expected nothing less from his knives. Nevertheless, this is the first mention I remember seeing of them.
