I've been merrily friction cutting Titanium on my new $219 (on sale) woodcutting Harbor Freight bandsaw. Works just fine except that the round throat plate is plastic and catches the jagged edge of the freshly cut material. The throat plate is also a little lower than the table surface which also contributes to the work hanging up on the edge of the throat. Has anyone tried making a metal replacement for this? Any other tips for friction cutting metal (machinists, don't tell me not to
). This sure beats muscle and a dull hand held hacksaw. Thanks.
