Ok, so I have a Custom Friction Folder on order from JK Knives. It is his Improved version, with a cap lifter built into the tang.

Mine is going to be similar to the black canvas micarta one below, but flat ground not saber.

JK Friction Folders rule!

That new one looks darn good John.

Like the Buck 110, everyone should have a JK Friction Folder.

I carried mine in my coverall side pocket at work for a couple a three years and used the heck out of it before retiring.
I love the ease of one hand opening and closing of FFs.

Who else loves, uses, and/or owns a Friction Folder?

I also have a JK fricky - great knife. It's natural micarta, flat ground sheepsfoot. You will enjoy yours.

Shout out to Mr. Morris, since I have one from him too. It gets considerable pocket time.

Can I get a pic of them?

Thanks for the heads up. I have owned a few of John's fixed blades, and this will be my first Folder of his.
I am looking forward to it.

I know @nighthaxan has made a few, and I only have one of his knives, so I will eventually be grabbing one of his too.

First folder I ever made. A fighting straight razor. Purchased shortly after completion by Ed Calderon.

Made in late 2011. Shortly after, I started building balisong.

Thanks for the thread. I hadn't brought out my Svord peasants or Higo No Kami in quite a while and although I know they are not in the league with what you folks are talking about, I am having fun with them again.

Interestingly (to me anyway ;)) the russlock seems to be an "advance" on this concept by adding a liner lock and a spring. I cut myself pretty well with my russlock when I first got it; I have NEVER cut myself with a friction folder. Go figure.

I just got my first friction folder and love it so far.

I have been into titanium handle frame lock knives because of the sturdiness and ease of operation. I also thought 3-4" blades are necessary for EDC.

But I now realize that this small lock-less folder is really sufficient for EDC. Well, I still love frame lock knives.
So I guess I got a new category of knives to spend my money on.....

Don't own one yet, but am planning on making one that doesn't have a tail.
It's blade tang will be like an opinel, and handle like a higo or douk douk ( I'm thinking more like the douk douk and with a bail )
