In astonishing works such as MM friction folders (http://www.michaelmorrisknives.com/current.php), one can see that the pin for the pivot is grinded and polished down to the handle, with no signs of bolt or so. My question is how do they do it? What kind of pin or system is used? And how is it possible to adjust the friction later? Thanks for any explanation – Michael.

Looks to be just nickle silver pins peened into place. There shouldnt be a need to adjust the friction if it is done right.

I am going to guess that they are Corby bolts.

They are probably put together with black loctite and the heads have been ground off!

That would be my best guess, by the size of the exposed head! Might be wrong though. Email him he might be willing to share!:)

It is a "friction" folder. sooner or later it will wear to a point where it will need to be tightened.

Tighten with a hammer & loosen with wedges ?

He says they are nickel silver pins.
Peen them and finish them flush.
