Does anyone know of a nice friction folder under $100? I know of the Svords but I would like something with more premium materials. Everything else is north of $150 including Spyderco's offer. I have seen several for sale in the Exchange area but they where few and far between. I know that I could always try and make one, but I would like to take a break from making something and just buy a nice, quality piece.

The KAI Higo is a fake friction folder. It's pretty nice though.

For just a little more (around $120) Michael Morris makes a great one. He uses old files and adds his signature bottle opener to the tang. His turnaround time is usually 3 months. So no instant gratification unless one pops up on the exchange.

I saw the Higonokami knives but I wanted something a little more substantial. The Michael Morris one looks very cool. I had seen them but I wasn't sure how you ordered them. I didn't realize that he took orders instead of just putting the available ones up for grabs. I think that he is the only option for me and my price point.

These friction folders are made in Belgium:

mostly in A2 tool steel or D2 high chromium tool steel:

I just happened to order one from him few days back and he said that the wait time is around 150 days.
Pretty painful wait but has to be done. : p
