I absolutely fell in love with the svord peasant knife and was wonder if anybody knew of any other, maybe higher quality, friction folders

Michael Morris of Morris Knives makes some really nice custom friction folders I've been eye balling for a while. They are reasonably priced too.

There are several internet dealers that carry high end Higo knives from Japan. I've wondered if mid range Higo knives even exist. They seem to go from fairly crude low end (but good) knives that sell for about $25 or less, and then jump up to very spendy boutique knives very quickly.

Mike Snody of Snody custom knives makes a great deal of high quality friction folders. They are customs and use very high end materials. If you're looking for something higher end but still want a friction folder I suggest checking out his youtube channel/site.

Hiroaki Ohta makes a very affordable lightweight custom in hand rubbed ATS-34 and desert ironwood.

Nice Ohta Rick!
My son (& me, he's only 12) picked up one of Mr. Ohta's knives at the CA Custom Knife Show last month, it looks very similar except with carbon steel, i'll get pic of it later... Ohta's making some very nice knives, at times hard to understand his english but he try's. It was really cool buying directly from him and that he'd just carried them over from his shop in Tokyo.
Here's some picks of my custom ff.

I'm not a knifemaker, but I am a machinist. I wanted to make a program to simply drill some holes and cut a shape (I cut it out of 1/8" aluminum and just let it drop out) and pin it together with 1/8" pins for a quick and dirty friction folder. The blades are just steak knives.

I have a cad file of this if anyone is interested.

I have a different design where I made a couple (again, not great) friction folders out of knife files. I really like these as they are 62 rockwell still.

What amazes me is the lack of a jump in friction folders. like with spyderco's you get a tenacious, an endura, a paramilitary etc. these go almost straight for svord right into high ends. I haven't been able to find any middle ground at all.

Found it in a search, I have not dealt with them myself at this point or had any recommendations of them.

try neptuneknives.com he has only 1 left and its a Deviant blades friction folder orange handle and its only $195
