Finally I got one of this as a BD present to precious me.

It cames in the nice box with sheath and cap.

Here how it looks n the sheath. Leather is soft and blade is very sharp - so they have kydex insets.

As I understand this is traditional hunting knife design.

Here this FF-hamon is pretty visible. It continues into tang.

Full flat grind, pretty thin - 4" x 31/32" x 1/8"

Of course I measure sharpness out of the box right away by trying to whittle my hair. It does whittle it! So I rush to test this sharpness on the thread:

10 +++
20 +++++++X++
30 ++++++
40 ++

This is sharpest out of the box, actually sharpest I ever saw knife!

Their site is Diamondbladeknives.com. I sent them an email awhile back to see if the had any plans of making any folder. They said they did not. :( Super edge retention.

I bet when Vassili gets done sharpening it he'll be able to cut thread simply by taking it out of the sheath and showing the thread its edge.
 
Have you sliced any rope with it yet? PS I really like your videos you post along with your tests.

So did I ! It was mentioned in a blade magazine that they were going to go into it, though! Can't wait to see the test results !
 
anyone know how these are sharpened, something about 600 grit diamond belts and cardboard wheels.

That's right. They're sharpened on a 600 grit diamond slack belt until the wire edge (burr) is raised. Then the burr is removed on a cardboard wheel with white compound.

Don't give up yet. Even though they don't have a folder on the market, they've made some limited edition presentation folders.

I think that within a year you'll have the folder you want. But I'm not in charge of production or production schedules, so don't take my word for it.
