Has anyone put friction grooves on their Sebenza's handle slabs? Done by CRK, of course. Do you think they work? Thanks.

It would be interesting to see how a Sebanza would feel if the handle was cutout to have a normal CR inlay, but has some thin material like skateboard tape in the cutout area.

The handle of the Micro-Tech Mini SOCOM Elite is made that way.

I have some "finger" grooves put in a sebenza from the factory. They do help with cutting tasks. Need to take some pics.

I did it to mine with a 1/4" bit, and am thinking about going back and doing a random pattern of divots on the front and back of another one. Correctly done, the divots appear smooth and shiny like the front slab of a CGG, which offsets the blasted finish very nicely. Using the depth guide, I (anyone) can achieve uniform depths, making the divots formed the same outer diameter, since they will not be 1/4" across, but rather smaller. You could actually, using different sized bits, make different diameter divots of a uniform depth.

I'm surprised more people don't do it to their Sebs, but I can understand the reluctance of "customizing" their babies... :)

After digesting the Meal---get some pics please. Leave room for the pie!

I have friction grooves on my Sebenzas' handle slabs. (They're on the top of the handles, not the sides. :) )

I don't think I can get a pic of anything that close-up. The Sebenza normally has grooves cut the length of the handle on top, so your finger doesn't slip sideways.

I believe CRK stopped doing those grooves. Those grooves didn't seem to serve much function in my opinion, but did add detail to the knife. I wish they still did the grooves.

I would like to see that CRK gave the option of chequering the entire handle.

Have handled Sebenza clones made by Fox from Italy that had this feature, and i would surely like to see it on a real Sebbie, mine for instance.

Beter grip than the standard bead blast finish, while being much more scratch resistant.
And it looks better also.
