Had one Friday on Wednesday due to Veterans day. I salute all past and present. May God keep them safe and help them destroy our enemys.

Now off the soapbox.

Not sure what the w/e will hold. working on a perpetual project and mabe work on that loooong knife with the d-guard.

What ya'll up to?

Still working on knives for the Chesapeake show. Couldn't get out to hunt this morning, raining like hell here. :grumpy: I finally got my t-shirts finished with my logo. Anybody interested in one let me know. I have large and extra large. Gotta get my head out of the woods for the next couple of weeks and concentrate on knives. Gun season is in a little over two weeks. I'll be out then. Have a good weekend guys. ;)

Going to go deer hunting tomorrow morning, then may go up to the middle zone after some ducks too. Other than that, it's finishing up some blades and sheaths.

I think I'm declaring it a 4 day weekend since I had yesterday off. Worked on another pair of spurs all day yesterday. Probably work on them some more today and then move on to finishing the folder I've been working on. Just about ready for heat treating.
Then as always, stalls to clean, horses to ride, and might get a round of paintball in.

14 years in the USAF, and I aint had a Veterans Day off since 1989. :grumpy:

This weekend I'm still whacking away at the house. Snow's on its way for tonight, and that pisses me off to no end. I've worked so hard on this house - pretty much all by my self. The good news is that the light it at the end of the tunnel and I may be able to get back into the shop soon. I'm dying to do something other than carpentry! Then again, the Jesus was a carpenter, so I can't be in a bad mood when I'm pounding nails.

Home Depot for about 60 2x4's tonight, some more siding and so on.

Gonna have me a bbq this weekend rain or shine, snow or no! :D

Well.......today is my anniversary/wifes birthday. I need to take my wife to dinner this evening so that blows hunting this evening :grumpy: That's a very small price to pay for the years she has tolerated an overaged child :o .

I'm busy as hell today to boot. First thing is to raise hell with our credit card company for taking so long to post CC payments to our account (Takes them 5 days now). I'm in a your fired mood today so we may well have a new CC company on Monday.

I have a couple of big contracts pending for next week that I need to finalize today because tomorrow I'm going hunting no matter what!

Sunday, I'm working on a new type of Taser.

Don: Happy Anniversary;
Instead of going to the NY Show on Saturday, going to have a Damascus making party. :D

Got some D2 and fancy Norton belts on the way, and I finally got around to making a better platen for my little Wilton 1x42, so I think I'll head down to the shop tomorrow. :D

I made some really nice canvas-and-epoxy laminate last weekend (out of worn-out Carhartts! Mycarharta! ). Now I need a blade to put it on.

Girlfriend's out of town tonight, so I think I'll go kick it with my old man. Good times.

If you weren't so far away I'd have helped ya pound some nails Jeff. Leaving hammer marks all over someone elses project is so much more satisfying ;)

Peter, I can't beleive you haven't figured this anniversary thing out yet. You should have made the little lady a nice little .45 caplock for her gift, and then taken her hunting with you :D

Bite your tongue Matt. I can see you need to learn a lot about women and hunting. They DO NOT MIX.

About 40 years ago, before we were married, she began nagging about me spending so much time in the mountains and how much she wanted to go hunting.

I took her bow hunting one very warm day and told her she had to sit and not move NO MATTER WHAT.

I took her to a place called Chestnut Ridge. It was famous for the large number of rattlesnakes. I spotted one in the leaves and sat her about 10 feet from it (she didn't know it was there). I sat down and she started moving around almost immediately. Soon the snake got tired of it and rattled. She spotted it and tugged at my sleeve and I just said SHHHHHHHHHHH.

That went on for about a half an hour when she stood up and said, "I want to go home"

I took her home, went hunting again and have never heard another word about going hunting!

Don't you know it Don :D My wife and I have been together almost 30 years and in the beginning all I heard was grief whenever I went hunting. It's to the point where she knows what a determined individual I am and has excepted the fact that no matter how much complaining she does, I'm gonna go anyway. Actually, she does support my habit these days and even will help hang the deer and wrap the meat when I process a deer. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones to have her. :)

Don, just take her somewhere that serves venison, then loudly proclaim how much it sucks versus the wonderful way she cooks it for you!!! That oughtta at least win you a couple points! ;)

I've been blessed for 30+ years with a wife who never complained about my hunting or fishing, often enough 4-5 days a week. She's been up to her elbows in blood and guts in a deer with nary a complaint. Though she never took to upland and duck hunting, she was my bowhunting partner for five years. The very last day we ever hunted, right before I got sick and quit all that, she was 30 feet up in a tree on a stand. The Baker fell out fron underneath her, leaving her on the seat. Not wanting to disturb the hunt by shouting for me, she shinnied down that tree and brought the chair down with her. My kind'a girl......

My weekend consists of being sick from the flu shot I finally found yesterday. My immune system doesn't like 'em, but it's far better than getting the flu and the inevitable pneumonia again. So, I've been watching MSNBC. I must say that the constant barrage of Arafat comments and watching those idiots shoot AK's off into the air is not helping me improve....

Don, the way your story started out, I was expecting to read that you left her on that ridge! Just joking, fella! My wife does some fishing with me, weather permitting. She enjoys the boat ride more than the fishing, I think. She's been up to her arms in carcasses for 30 years, and is good at butchering. Good squaws are hard to come by.
