Who the heck knows. Hope its not raining all w/e. Still plugging away on getting my welding forge finished. Might start something new that gonna blow everyones mind - Guaranteed :D

What you guys got planned ?

Mark...What type of burner are you using for the welding forge and how many?

I am going to work on another order, how lucky am I? I have the HT worked out thus far :D

Don't you mean four day weekend?! :D I sure appreciate my Friday's off on weekends like this.

This morning I'm going to finish up the sheath for the "flint" ground knife, then start the finish work on a wharncliff for George Harrison of Straight River Knife (who must be one of the finest knife dealers anywhere). Someone dropped the axe and I have to do some repair work on that. At least its just damage to the outside edges here and there, but I'd sure like to find out who's responsible...

So...enough coffee in me to see and I'm off to the basement. I'll surface sometime tomorrow. :D

This will be a vertical forge with the blower type burner (1) made from pipe. Very similar to the one on Darren Ellis's website by Indian George.

Well color this a 2-day weekend for me. I have to work again tomorrow so I can fix more crap on that press I didn't get to last Saturday. This actually cool though. I'm getting out of going to a family thing my brother-in-law has going up at Winnipesaukee Lake. He's a peckerhead. My wife will be going with my son, so I get some alone time to sit by the fire after work and drink some beers... Coors Light of course! :D

That's funny Jeff, my wife wants us to visit her father next weekend and I'm seriously considering working while they go, for the same reason as you. I'll probably suck it up and go though, at least he's a good cook.

Let's see, this weekend, since we are only going to get one decent day, and that will be Saturday, I'm probably going to take my family hiking somewhere and maybe have a picnic. The rest of the weekend will be spent dealing with the remnants of hurricane Francis when it arrives here. Rainy Labor Day weekend for us for sure. Hopefully it will only be a tropical storm when it get's here, but south/central Florida is going to take it HARD. We have 2.5 million people who have been given evacuation orders, man am I glad I don't live in THAT end of the state!

Other than that, I've got some email to catch up on with some buddies. A pyrometer I'm cobbling together from a digital controller I got on eBay and I may work on a special heat treating forge. Actually with the storm coming it will probably be a piddle in the shop weekend betwen watching movies playing board games with the wife and kids.

Gonna head out of work at about 12 today and drive up to st. louis. Gonna sit in a nice air-conditioned box, drink free beer, and a watch the Cardinals do a little whoopin'. :D

Other than that, it's all fun and games in the shop. I might watch a couple of movies for "research" for the screenplay. ;) :D

You all have a safe one, and those of you in frances' way -- be safe.

Hey Mark, I'm slowly working on updating the forge gallery pages again, and just put the pics on for your horizontal forge building tutorial (though, they're not uploaded yet). As I fill in the written parts I may be emailing you for clarification on information I put there for it, or better yet, email me your phone number if you don't mind, that may be easier. :)

Well, my plans for the weekend are to get materials ready for the SECK show, so I'll be repackaging and cutting up Inswool most of the weekend likely. Also, now that I'm back to work on things, I'm trying to get caught back up on forge orders that fell behind when Kathryn was in the hospital. Other than that, if I have some free time, I may start on a Scagel style folder I've been wanting to make for a while now...

:)

Darren,

I will e-mail a text file with descriptions of what going on in the photos later on today.

Are you planning on being at the Trackrock hammer-in still ?. If so you may want to update that on your site. The link to the campground is www.trackrock.com

Darren...I emailed you about the Winston Show and supplies....can you see if you got the email? I need a venturi burner and some kaowhool....

Looks like you're going to be a busy man this weekend. ;)

Oh yeah, I left you a message on you home phone. :D

I'll bet my father in law beats yours Guy. He's a retired appeals court judge and when he sees something I made that he likes, he says in his best southern drawl " Looks like somebody else made it!" :grumpy:

I just finished the roof. I'm going to check my trail cams tomorrow and then catch up on the work I didn't do yesterday and today!

Maybe Monday I'll finish the butter knife.
