Estate sale......looking for knives.....I see this.

I say, "That's not a 110 Three-Dotter."

(Of course, I was REALLY looking for a $5 Empress Trio.)

Oh well, got it anyway.

Had to pay $20. It looked fairly nice, so I thought what the heck?

So, I'm wondering, is this from the Camillus era? First 301 I ever owned.

I like it.

It's rare to find anything desirable around here, too.

Relatives or the people running the sale often snap up the good stuff.

You just keep looking and you get one once in a while.

Thanks......the really good thing I got was a very old Monarch 3-20 Duluth Pack in "Looking like New" condition. Must have been put away in the 60s and never used.

They had it inside out and never saw the trademark and so they didn't know what it was......only asked $10.

So......it was a good day.
 
BG buying a 301.........I will have to start looking up, surely pigs will fly soon.......... ~(;-)

You know your gonna have to have the grooved bolstered first model now, I think Matt just sold his extra.....dang

Just carry a 301 in you're pocket for a week,make sure to keep the blades sharp.There's a good chance it will become a permanent fixture there for the rest of you're life.
 
Nice find BG... I like the 301s too... If you don't see any knives at a sale, just ask... I always ask for Knives, coins and guns... Some times they have them put up and say they didn't know they can sell them (Knives)... Anyway it works for me... I love estate sales, yard sales and swap meets... Good Luck all... :)

Anyhow, thanks guys. I have a nice old knife in excellent condition at a reasonable price and I'm happy about that.

And......300Bucks......I don't think I'll be collecting them, though. I have a couple areas of interest and it's hard enough to keep up with all the info there without trying to keep a lot of 300 info in my brain.

I'm an odd kind of collector anyway......I really only collect good deals.
