That Dui is Sweeeeeeeet!

Do we call this Deal of the Night. I like it.

Email sent on Sher dui chirra with dhar wood handle.

Got it. Sher is my favorite kami, I like dui chirras in general, and with the curved spine and handle this one really appeals to me. Also, I think it's my first dhar wood handle. I have one other (non-HI) khukuri whose handle might be dhar wood, but I can't tell.

Actually Ndog, it's not the first CAK by Thamar. I called Auntie a few weeks ago to see if she had any Khuks with grey and black horn handles like the Malla I picked up last month, and she had one of these. Mine is the same length, but only 26.4 ounces. The colors in the handle are pretty similar to my Malla. After reshaping the handle to fit my hand (and make it less villager), filling in gaps with superglue, and repolishing the horn, I can say it is now one of my favorites. The length and balance of mine is perfect for use (at least for me). The weird thing is, mine has the Ang Khola handle and angle on the spine, but, has close to a Dui Chirra edge curve, so it's kind of a hybrid. To say I'm in love with mine is an understatement. I don't know how Thamar does it, but this one cuts oak like butter, even better than my chiruwa 18 inch WWII. Whoever picks this one up will be getting a solid performer. I kinda wish Auntie had waited til next month to post this one, when I wouldn't have been so toothless........

I know the feeling sleeper! sounds like the knife made it to the right home, really awesome to hear about !!!

Awesome blades! One day I will have some teeth-then my dream knife.

Actually Ndog, it's not the first CAK by Thamar. .........
Cool sleeper! Glad to see Thamar is into the other models. I was curious how he would do with them. Interesting CAK you got there. You just know it when you got the right blade eh:thumbup: I have a lot of post oak on my property and that is some hard stuff. Especially after it is seasoned for three years. Im afraid to chop that stuff with anything other than an AK. Im fond of the grey and black horn as well. Really pretty stuff.

Grats Dave! That thing is awesome!

Great grab Davidf99! And I hope you get your Done Deal Mr.Dickiss! That looks to be an awesome addition to anyones collection.

Toothless shark swimming by to live vicariously so I am hoping that both of you post lots of pics once you have your blades inhand!

What makes the above DC a DC and the CAK a CAK?

They both have similar stats and build. From the picture the main difference seems to be just the curve vs angle.

Found this thread where Karda goes over the differences.

I still don't see it above but I guess I need more training. :D

I'll let ndog tell you so you can be more confused. :D

A Dui Chirra has two wide Chirra running the length of the blade.
A CAK has one that can be smaller near the spine or it can be one running the length of the blade.
A Tin Chirra has 3 running the length of the blade
