I've just finished forging out 12 blades, that was the fun part and didn't take all that long. Now however comes the "Rest of the story" with HT and Tempering, more sanding, finishing, guards, handles, all the other stuff.
Worst thing is, it feels like it's snowing outside here in S. Texas. I'm not ready for the cold front that came in yesterday.

Knife work, that seems to be the order of each day now. :) my orders are ever so slighty increasing by a weekly basis. I'm getting excited about early muzzleloader in 2 weeks. I'm hoping the weather cools soon. The summer pattern just won't let go. Have a good w/e

Gonna get a new front tire put on my bike........getting ready to ride it to Bowie's hammer-in next weekend if the weather permits.

New "vertical" forge body is almost finished. May get it lined and fired up this weekend.

Gonna do my best to make some flint-striker knives with no instruction. And seriously looking forward to Bowie's hammer-in.

Should be interesting...

Im leaving for the Elk Hunt here in a couple hours. As much time scouting ive done if I dont come back with a nice one I think my wife is going to hang me. Every time we both go out on the 4 wheelers scouting for Elk we Tend to see a few nice ones so I better not let her down.

Robert, I hear ya on that cold stuff........Im not looking forward to gettin up at 5 tomorrow to go walk the mtns. Im sure its going to be a cold one. Hope that sun comes out quick.

Trying to finish up one of the blades I forged at Trackrock a couple of weekends ago. Taking the family to the "Soldiers' Show" tomorrow. Praying for a Red Sox comeback as well....

Mill is up and running....I'll be playing with it most of the weekend.
Shrimp feast at the wifes work Sunday but I'll still have some time to play in the morning.

Not sure I should send it through the mail...Hazardous materials????
We still got to get together...Maybe at the Chesapeak show. We got to do it before you go WEST.

Hmm.. hadnt thought about it being hazmat ....

I'm always open for getting together. Let me know when the produce slows down. I'll be ready.

Tonight:

Working on the impossible curve match on my newest fixed blade handle. I may give up for now, and re-visit the bolsters on another knife....

Started a new job today. Gonna work about 4 days a week around school in a cabinet shop. Its pretty much all laminates, but has been pretty interesting so far. They have a CNC router with a 5'X10' table. The head on it has a tooling carousel/turret so that it can change bits as it runs, and you really can't beleive how fast the thing cuts until you've seen it run
Have to work there tommorrow morning and then I'm hoping to get some knife work in. Have to work at the farm sunday. Probably not gonna have much spare time anymore.

playing with my power hammer, and waiting on the photographer to get some decent pictures of that knife.

Great Southern Knife Show - first table in about 12 years, but looking forward to it just the same. I'll have good company, ol' John Costa is joining me for the weekend.
Think Sandy's coming down off his mountain too.

CREX - Tell the fellas I said I missed them at TrackRock.
I'll be working on 4 knives and going to the hospital to see Peper (My stepsons great grandfather). He aint good......YET!
