I have absolutely no plans other than forging as much as I possibly can stand and I am going to start construction on my automatic forging assistant. (small power hammer) I 'll take a series of pictures as i go. I plan to scrounge all of the components. I wish peter nap lived next door. he could probably help me make one in a few hours :D

I've got my drawing of my soldier knife finished so that will be forthcoming also.

What's on the forum agenda this w/e.

Happy Friday to you, Mark. I have to work tomorrow. Its a good thing, though. I can use the o/t. I need some supplies, and I'm saving to get a surface grinder, since my plans are to leave my current employment. I've been using the one here in my shop at work.

Also, Mark, I feel like I need to apologize to you. We fired this really peckerhead kid a couple months ago. He showed up in the parking lot last night as we were getting off, and said he's on his way to West Virginia. He had a crappy old pickup loaded with his junk. I wouldn't wish that sorry-ass on a broke-dick dog. I must apologize for not castrating him when he was in my custody - now he's heading your way. Sorry, man.

:D :D :D

you mean thar's 2 of 'em?

I had to turn down a great duck hunt off the Mississippi this weekend to finish some orders and try to work on the some extra blades for a little knife show in St. Louis at the end of the month. (my first to have a table at) :)

I need to finish a sheath (start a second) and get some bolsters made. Put the edge on 3 knives for shipping. BUT tonight is Japanese food!! Umm UM! ;)

Hey Mark
I'm taking a metal fabricating class at school this qaurter and the professor has a 65lb trip hammer in the shop that looks home made. There's no motor or hydraulics that I can see, but he claims it works really well (but won't share it with anybody :grumpy: ) If I can figure out how it cycles I'll get a drawing your way, it doesn't look very complicated.

As far as the weekend, today I'm taking knives to the post office, then going to school. Thank God I only have one class today the rest of the week really kicked my ass. Then I'm just gonna ride horses and work on knives and pray the damn weather improves. We've been flooded every day this week, Wednesday it got high enough it got into our barn and my dad's shop :grumpy: Some neighbors did finally work on a drainage ditch that was washed in so I'm hoping things will be better now.

Just preparing to complete the electrical work on the addition to my house, going to look at another dog we may adopt on Saturday, building a stand for my belt grinder. Plus trying to get over a sore throat :(

Went crow hunting this morning or as they call it in Arkansas, "hillbilly duck huntin" :D Then we walked some fence rows trying to kick up some rabbits and what do you know, two deer, a buck and a doe jump out of a thicket. It was neat to see them even though deer season's over. My neighbor told me we have a huge nine pointer and six pointer spending time behind our houses. He said he saw them with ten doe Sunday morning. Plan on working on a 5160 camp knife for a customer this weekend. This one is a biggin, 8 1/2" blade with a 5 1/2" handle. Have a good weekend guys. ;)

I'm getting closer to the Spring Break 7 day Italy Trip, and I am working at the stable all day tomorrow. I've still managed to put off building the forge. Gotta learn how to arc weld first. Oh well, happy friday.

Somehow I missed this earlier and even thought of starting the Friday thread myself. Glad Peter brought it to the top.

Started a cold yesterday so I spent the whole morning laying on my arse in bed. Felt great. I'm going to finish up a sheath for the mini theater knife this weekend and do some heat treating. There's a gun show so I'll spend some time wandering around out there, but I have no money to spend. I'm in dire need of some 45 ACP though, gotta look for a good deal. Maybe I can make a trade.

After HT, I may start the grinding on my Iraq knife. That's one that really has my interest. You guys who have already finished and shipped your knives make lazy asses like me look bad. :D

Maybe I'll even clean some of the drifts of steel and Micarta dust out of my shop. Or not. Either way, I'm going to get some stuff done this weekend that I've been putting off too long. Really.

Oh yah, dave's cold just reminded me. I got a cold in 50 and 60 degree weather, and yes, it was a cold. Yes, this was yesterday, and yes, it is probably going to be 70 tommorow, sry to all of you people up north, but aint it great to be a texan!

Went to an art opening tonight that featured body painting and looked at the pretty painted people. I know both the models and the painters so it was old home week. Was wearing my black palm/cable neck knife. First public appearance. Got a lot of interest.
Tomorrow, working in the shop all day and most of Sunday too. Finishing up an Eggerling damascus piece I've been fooling with for months, and starting on my soldier's knife. Can't wait to get going on that. Also going to cash in some Christmas gift cards. I think I see a planer in my future!
