Again for Mark.
More Drywall work that is a PITA.
Starting to prime it also another PITA.
Making knives in the mean while.

Drywall sucks monkey balls. I'm singly the worst drywall seam sander in the history of "sixteen-inch-centers".

Hopefully going to be starting two utility blades today... might even try and whack 'em with a hammer a few times before I grind them. Not sure if a one-brick forge and the anvil on the end of my bench vise is up to it, but we shall see...

They cut our overtime, so tomorrow, I'm getting some grass cut early, then going to the Oregon Ridge Primitive Technology Weekend. It's at a small park in Hunt Valley MD, and looks neat.

It's a PDF so I can't cut and paste the particulars, but the information is on the first page in the lower right hand corner. The PDF is the second link.

I have no idea what time I'm going, look for the big guy with the Grizzly Adams beard and hair. I've been told I'm actually bearable in person :D . If by some chance twist of fate, I get a haircut and a shave, look for the big guy that still looks like Grizzly Adams.

Man, forget the Derby party, your morning sounds like an adventure. Looks like some beautiful scenery is in your plans tomorrow. :)

Yup...my saturday freed up. I'm going to pick up anvils on Monday. BTW: the 510# one is likely sold, but I'll have a 315# for sale at Blacksmith Days... :)

I just got a new commuter vehicle yesterday (1990 Civic...pimpin' I know...) and it needs a tune-up and muffler this weekend...

Can I bring some old jeans too? Where was it you get your epoxy again?

i dont have the press here at work i do that stuff at home
every thing other then that is right here just off the square of littlestown

This weekend I'm working on something new Mark....Leaning canes...I call the T sticks.
The spread is just right to lean on for us Old Folks with bad backs. Better than the trash cans at the mall anyway.
Here's a head I roughed out today:
tstick2.jpg

I have 10" of them Mark, complete with titanium screws that they managed to strip out of the bone. I'll check back there, but I honestly don't think I have a spare.
Peter, how do you use your new invention? Do you sit on it sort of like the picture in your avatar? What if it broke? (ouch!). You must use it in a way I'm not thinking about.

That would be a problem if it broke....These are pretty sturdy. Most of the canes I build are sturdy enough that you could use them as emergency baseball bats.

Yes you can sit on them but the main purpose is to rest your forearms on it and lean forward. I got the idea from my leaning ladder. I have a section of treestand ladder in the shop that I lean on. Bending over makes my back hurt and the quickest cure is to lean on something for a while.

My wife hates to go to the malls with me because I lean on the trash cans while I smoke.

Mark,
I hope you are doing better.

Please feel free to boot me in the butt if you dont like the friday posts in your name.
You started a tradition.
Just tryin to cover for ya.:D

Like that old rascal geezer IG has room to talk! I just had my sheath maker Abe return 3 hunters and delivered the sheaths, and of course collected his $. I have some buffing to complete on the 3 knives and put one more together before I deliver them and start on the next ones. I have to finish grinding a CPM 420V guthook for one of my best customers in KY. The guthook is a thank you for all the business he has been giving me and also for the other customers he has steered to me. Here at home we overhauled our boat trailer, then painted it and the outside of our jonboat. Tomorrow we plan on painting the inside of the boat after I cut the green treated plywood and carpet for the boat floor. Of course, then we have to go try out the rig and catch some fish when it's all finished.
