Once again it's the w/e.

Hopefully I'll get to actually make something this w/e. Need to cut the weeds but looks like rain.

What's happenin with you Guys?
 
I'm finishing up the kitchen utility knife for the lady at work. I'll post a pic later today. Also working on two big game hunting knives with elk scales. They have modified spear/semi-skinner blades. Making the scales from off the whole antler is a pain. :grumpy: Knife work pretty much all w/e. Have a good w/e everyone.

Today its school in the morning, and then I've got a mower to overhaul and weld back together. I'll have it as crooked as Mark's grin before I'm done :p ;)
The rest of the weekend is whatever knife making I can fit in along with a horseshow sunday morning.

I couldnt even step in my shop for two weeks :barf: . The cafee construction and decoration takes all my time. The only knife I managed to finish previous month is my sister's b-day fruit knife, I will work on the handle of it in this weekend. The big skinner and other two knives and a sword layin' on the anvil waiting some attention from me. May be next week, who knows...

I am pulling a half day in my office today. I have two projects still hanging over my head, both are on the sheathmaking stage, so I'll have those done and in the mail either today or first thing in the AM on Saturday. I'm HOPING to get major grinding done this weekend, but my wife is on Spring Break now (she's a teacher, not a student) so that may mean my weekend is spent on "together time." Need to make some $$$ for a Chris Crawford EDC slipjoint I've been drooling over since the first KITH trade three years ago, as well as hopefully saving up a bit for the knife show in Novi in a few weeks. I made that Tactical Orange Peeler (at least the steel part of it) in a couple of hours from start to going in for tempering, so I'm hoping to knock out two decent knives this weekend. Who knows, though. Matt, we have a snow forecast, too. It was 68 degrees two days ago here. Stupid midwest weather!
 
Got a new Minor-league baseball team in this year and brand-new stadium for them to play in right in the middle of downtown. Tomorrow is the first game ever there, an exhibition game between the Springfield Cardinals and the St. Louis Cardinals. :D It's gonna be sweet.

Took Monday off to go fishing with my father as it's his birthday and well -- it's fishin.

Oh, and I'll make some knives too. :)
 
Michael, while I'm thinking about it... I was on TAD Gear's website yesterday (man, they have some cool stuff!) and I saw they have some of your knives carried there now (congrats!). Problem is when you click on the link to see the description of the knives you have there, they list them as "Eric Blair Kwaiken" or "Eric Blair Neo-Tribal." So, I'd email them and ask them to fix that. Have you had any sales through TAD?
 
I'll be putting a better edge on one Tops knife in the picture and a sheath pattern for the tracker. Tops knives dont belong to me.

YEah, I have trouble sleeping any time I know there are good farting jokes being shared in my vicinity!
 
Have to go and check out a harley for play time with daughter. Finished 4 knives yesterday and have to get 6 done this weekend.not to mention 3 folders from last show. hopefully I will be able to drive the bike if I get it. :D
 
Here I was feeling so cocky about getting the four knives done I've been working on for a month, and Kim's going to finish up six this weekend! :rolleyes: Some days it just doesn't pay go get out of bed. ;) And believe it or not, I slept until 7:15 this morning!!! That's a big thing for a guy who usually gets up at 3:00... :D

Knife work this weekend? Not if I sleep in! My wife has a domestic list as long as your arm, and she's hovering around me as I type. Slave driver! Relentless! But maybe I can sneak up at 3:00 tomorrow and shadow down to the shop for a couple of hours...

Meanwhile it's - paint, paint, paint. And clean the yard, and change the tire on my truck, and... :rolleyes: Life! Always getting in the way of meaningful work.
 
I spoke to Kim on the phone a couple weeks ago and he was like "Yeah, me and my bud ground out 36 knives t'other day... I really hate that s#*! so I just do it all at once..." In reality I'm sure he's got some giant CNC monster in the back that works 24-7. A little typing and away it goes! :cool:
 
Off to Batson's Bladesmithing Symposium in Alabama. I'm giddy, can't wait!
 
I need to start getting things ready for the Oregon Show starting next Friday. I'm going to be doing the forging demo there on Sunday also so that makes even more work to get ready for. Seem to have a case bladesmith burn out and thats not good. Feel like I wasted most of this past week and didn't get much of anything done except for this tiny hammer poll hawk.

The weather is pretty nice and sunny on the first of my regular 3 day weekend. I have a package to ship to our favorite Roger L. this morning, but am waiting for his return email to get his home address. I am doing the final assembly of one knife today, hopefully get 3 put together this weekend. I am working on some mammoth inlays in between the assembly work today, and checking to find a local that can do some scrimshaw work for me on the ivory handle inlays. On my weekend list to do includes building a mini table top disk grinder for grinding stone. If I can get the thing to work the way I want to, I will show you gents my contraption. I'm not a welder, so it will be a bolt together table grinder.
 
Gonna see the movie Sin City with a friend, pull some more overtime before its gone on Saturday. Pretty boring, huh?
