I am at work...
Tonight I have a good 6 hours to work in the shop (gf going out!)...I am finishing a blade as much as I can. I have some crazy ringed Gidgee that I am going to use on the "cool hamon" blade I posted here yesterday. I haven't decided yet if i want bolsters, if so, if they are going to be shaped or straight, or if i am going to put the main focus on the wood and make fullt sculpted one piece scales with an integral guard built into the scales. This stuff is hard!
I also have 4 sets of some amazing burl that is tempting me....one of those sets or the gidgee is going on tonight. Im leaning towards one piece scales because i loved how my last one came out, but a curving bolster with the rear edge matching the exact flow of the hamon (going to trace it) seems like such a tempting idea.....just absurdly time consuming to match a curving angle like that (for me, at least)...
