The top dagger is made by Dennis Friedly and just arrived from the PO yesterday. It is 9 3/4" OAL and 5 1/8" blade of either 440C or ATS 34. Dennis can't recall which as this is an older piece. I have been wanting one of his knives for a number of years.

The scrimshaw of the Bull Elephant is done by Linda Karst on the Walrus ivory handle. The fittings are damascus.

The bottom knife is by the late Harvey McBurnette with ivory scales and on one side of the bolsters is carved a Bull Elephant head. The pair now make a great display together both in the photo and at home.

Nice pair to put in the same shot Murray. Friedly and Karst, that's a potent combo. I haven't seen to many daggers by him. Congratulations on another nice addition to your collection. Displaying it with Harvey's folder compliments them both...Rich

Now that's a very elephant, I mean, a very elegant pair - I particularly like the Friedly dagger. How about a close-up of the scrimshaw? Thanks for maintaining the tradition of always having a new knife on hand whenever I come over to visit :)

Cheers,

Roger

Great knives, Murray! Boy you have some knice stuff! ;)

The elephant theme is rare, but it sure looks good. Perfct combo. Thanks. :)

Roger--here is the closup of the scrimshaw. BTW check the photo thread in Gallery as there are other shots included there.

figured coming out of all that heat would make any bull elephant charge.

Whoa there big fella! Thanks for the close-up Murray, excellent scrimshaw. I did check out the other pics in the photo thread - so you've mastered the picture-in-picture thing - most cool.

Cheers,

Roger

Very nice. That scrimshaw is superb.

The McBurnette folder is fabulous. Beautiful engraving, wonderful shape to the handle and what looks like some very nice filework (hard to tell).

The dagger is nice, but not really a favorite type. That folder on the other hand is one I would be proud to own
