Hoping somebody would have a suggestion for a quality boot knife that isn't too expensive. Looking for something with decent steel that isn't too hard to sharpen and not too big. Thanks

One blade that I happen to like but that is seldom mentioned is the Cold Steel Braveheart. Made from AUS 8A, it's a modern take on the Celtic Sghain Dhu and is very slim and would make (as it is intended to be) an excellent boot knife.

Gerber guardian and the appelgate combat come to mind, but I am happy with my ZT 0150--however that would probably be out of the price range.

Why does your friend want to have a knife in his boot? What kind of boot does he wear? Or is that just your terminology for a small dagger?
