Friend needs Advice

My friend is looking for a good knife to take on his annual whitewater trip.
He had a CRKT stiff KISS but lost it.
He is looking for something similar (he likes that sharpened block of steel look) in a neck knife configuration.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

What's his price limit?

There's many options. Another CRKT KISS, or Krein Dogfish would be a decent, cheap replacement. A Buck/Mayo Kaala is a nice, mid level option. Perhaps the best, cost-is-no-object option would be the Spyderco Caspian Salt. The H1 steel simply can not rust, the finger hole means you're extremely unlikely to drop it, and the integrated line cutter might save somebody's life.
