At least five of you turkeys are hogging prototype tweeners.

Go outdoors, cut up some stuff, take pictures, post 'um up.

Please?

The title of your thread made me think you were a pedophile. Just saying.

I agree with BRL... I would love to see something other than just a profile shot of the new tweeners (have they been officially named yet?).

In other news, I agree, the title of this thread to outsiders can seem... akward... to say the least ;).

Now all we need are some sweet user shots of the prototypes. Also, personally I would find it interesting to know what the tweeners started out looking like, and what changes were made during testing, and for what reasons. For instance, each time something in the design was changed... why did it get changed? Did a proto fail? Was it uncomfortable? Excess weight? stuff like that.

I'm not sure if that is "Top Secret" or something like that, but I think it would be very interesting to know what the originals looked like, and what the progression of the tweeners has been like. I'm sure others here would agree with that. Any chance on that Ethan?

Eh?

Eh?

Hold on a sec and I will get some of those proto pics. The initial ones and the changes. I don't have any to mess with sadly, so I can't get any use pics yet.

Alright, here you go.

This pic shows the inspiration behind the BK11, that is what the top knife is. Then through the design steps, until you get to where we are now. The second from the bottom Ethan had several made, and we all got one that attended the first gathering.

The most recent version of the camp tweener (as of May at least) on top, followed by three of the original tweener designs (there were several to begin with, but I didn't save a copy of that picture unfortunately), the recurve, the tanto, and the camp tweener. Notice the similarity between the tanto and the sheaths that came with the BK11's and 14's for awhile?

The newer clip point and trailing edge tweeners. Both of which are wonderful.

I want one of the protos in the first pic. The second above the bk11, that is amazing looking

I want the second down from the top in the first pic, as a Becker folder, and I really want the Trailing point and the Mini Campanion god those are pretty.

Love the photos! Where did you get them?

Does anyone know the why behind the variations? Those are the stories that I would really love to hear. I guess what we need is for Moose and Ethan to get back, and then they can tell us a story around the campfire :P.

The first pic was snagged by Guyon I think, and the later two were mine. All of them were taken at the first Gathering there at Ethan's back in May. If I had a sheath, or even any of the protos, I would definitely show em to ya Flexxx, but alas, I will have to wait like everyone else until the Gathering next month to get any more pics. I will take some special care to get pics and good comparison pics this time around.

I don't know much of the story on the reasons why they changed, only that they did. I really wish I could find the original tweeners proto picture, it had a ton more knives in it. It was up here when I first joined BF, but it disappeared shortly after. I think maybe Bladite had it, but if so I haven't seen it since.

Looks like the ergonomics have evolved for the better. Handsome utilitarian perfection in that smaller BK-2. Damn that's sweet.
