I'd like to announce that for everyone at Trackrock, I'll be making a Gumbo on Saturday night at Cabin 4.
First of all, I'd like to thank Phillip for letting us invade the kitchen.
Then I'd like to thank Mike (MiBo71) who offered to provide the plates/utensils/napkins and such.
Then I want to thank Darth Blader who is making the Jambalaya- Yum, yum, yah yah!
If you've never been to Trackrock, then this should push you over the edge and get you off the fence. I'm flying in from Kansas City, if that is any indication of how cool this thing is.
Anyhow, I'll be making the Gumbo and Rice. Trackrock is super casual and as such, I really can't say when dinner will be served. I can say that I'm planning on having it ready by about 5:30 with an expectation to serve sometime between 5:30 and 8:30. I suspect that we'll probably spend the last hour of daylight out cutting and chopping and getting a fire going.
If you could RSVP to this thread, it would help, but if you can't, don't, prefer not to, or whatever, then don't let it stop you from coming. The beauty of Gumbo is that it's very flexible wrt portions.
If you wan't to bring something (other than beer or bourbon) then let me know and I'll update the thread.

Drinks are BYO+ maybe a few for the hosts. (Bud Light and Stella) -- Remember that, as Carl so eloquently puts it, everyone is expected to behave themselves.
