We are approaching, not so very long from now, another anniversary of Bill and Rusty's passing.
After they passed, I made a kind of pact with Yangdu, that we would steward the event that is HI forum and family forward. We had a common vision. And that has happened. I've been at times, a kind of HI Sales Manager. It has been rewarding and fun.

Just the other day, though, Yangdu pointed out to me time I spent here was time not writing. And she's right. I've verbalized it enough to her. Being here is an alternative to the hard work I must do. From time to time many of you have written me seeking advice about HI or a question you did not wish to burdon Yangdu with. And I've happily answered what I could. I'll still do that. But our roles change over the years. Yangdu has built for herself her own brand of leadership for the forum. Hers is subtle. It is not like Bill's, nor should or could it be. But it exists, and she is not the same person she was shortly after her husband passed.

I stepped down as mod because of my changing life, and I'm kind of putting into writing what I see as further change. I'm a fan of HI- not a spokesman for it. I'm 'resigning' from that capacity, if I ever truly held it. The truth is Yangdu is a real work bug, and does fine. She's actually pretty damn tough.

If from time to time I make a HI related announcement, you can bet Yangdu has asked me to do so, and I will when called upon. But this steamship is well under way without my input.

Nasty's doing a pretty good job of understated Mod, too, it must have been exactly what the Doc ordered.

take care, all

Thanks for all that you do and have done, Munk. while all of us that frequent this fine place could be called the cogs, you have been a most excellent grease:) All the good work you have done for HI, Yangdu, and for us is very appreciated, just as well all value the hard work of some many others that keep this place alive and breathing.

Thank you for your service to us as a small community. Whether it was official or not, you stepped into a gap that was created by the passing of a couple of natural leaders who were our friends. I think you did well and I understand that it is time to step aside. I pray for blessings on you and your writing that are exponentially greater than that which you extended to us. See you around the stove, Munk.

Thanks, Munk. As I have mentioned before, I can't really explain how I stumbled upon this forum, but you, sir, are a big part of the reason I have stayed.
Happy Holidays.

Eric

Good for you Munk. Keep us posted with snippets of your writing, which is always much appreciated. HI speaks for itself most of the time, and even though you enhanced the message, the khuks are all action and no talk. Your post count will be missed brother, but your content may even improve. That sounds like tall billing, but I think its realistic.

Yep, more writing from you is a good thing:thumbup:

But yes, a well deserved thank you is in order.:)

Thanks, Munk. As I have mentioned before, I can't really explain how I stumbled upon this forum, but you, sir, are a big part of the reason I have stayed.

What he said.

Munk,

Thanks! I will look forward to your writings in the future, be they here or in some other published medium.

Best of luck!

Adding my thanks as well, Munk. I was just thinking of the upcoming anniversary earlier today.

Monk, I can honestly say that I very much enjoy your writings here. I look forward to more of the same, as well as looking forward to buying copies of anything you publish. ( I will of course have to ship them to you for an autograph, who knows, may be worth lots of money sometime down the road. :D )
You've done a hell'of'a job both as moderator, and as HI spokesman. Times and circumstances change, and we must adapt to them or be left behind in the dust.

Bill

Chopping wood has saved my life more than I can count.

Munk, that's just awesome. One of the coolest things I've ever hear heard about this place.

Thank you for all you've done, Munk. You've always been one of THE posts that I always read. When scrolling quickly with little time, I always stop when I see the golden "Munk." Accordingly, it is more than fitting that you back off to write more. Your posts, especially your posts about your home and life, are simply incredible. Your writing talents are incredible, and I'm glad to hear that you're following your heart. Don't be a stranger, but do what you need to do.

Thank you for all you've done.

Chris
