The story follows below.
For now, look upon this quintessential gent's fighter made by Wade Colter and Erik Fritz - finished off in style with a silver/leather scabbard by fellow knifemaker Steven Rapp and photographed by me.
It all started when Steven Garsson applied his tattooing skills for Wade and Erik while we were all up at Josh Smith's for his Big Sky Knife Show and hammer-in a couple of years ago. Those guys were happy with their ink and made a knife in appreciation for Steven. Steven Garsson engaged Steven Rapp to make the scabbard. I don't know if Rapp had to get inked or just got paid, but the scabbard is great. Then I asked Steven if he would tat a real badass rooster on my arm this fall and he said he would if I'd make a pretty picture of his knife. It's what happens in the custom knife world when people get to know each other, actually meet at events when possible, and become friends.
