Greetings you all:)

It appears to me that many of you prefer the FRN Endura over the FRN Delica.

I wondered why?

Since I'm rather concerned with sheeple friendlyness(?) I carry and use my Delica most of the time. However, I must admit that the Endura(3 that is, the Endura 4 doesn't feel right to me) fits my gorilla hands way better. Is this the same reason you all prefer the Endura?

Just curious...

I don't like the delica, it's too small! I love the Endura, because everything with a sub 3 inch blade makes me feel that i am holding a toy knife. :D

I prefer the Endura.

Handle length is more of an issue than blade length with me. Delica's handle is a tad small for me.

I prefer the smaller blade of the Delica. Though to be honest I'd prefer the larger Endura handle.

I prefer the Endura for several reasons:

The handle is more comfortable.

It rides deeper in my pocket and feels more secure.

A longer blade usually does'nt dull as quick as a short blade given the same amount of work.

And if I ever need it for self-defense, I would rather have a longer blade.

I do carry a Delica at the hospital where I work because a larger blade might freak out the staff and patients.
And it's a black-blade Delica--I think the black blade appears smaller than the bright blade.

Cheers,
Allen.

For me, it depends on the situation/environment. During the week, a smaller blade like the Delica or equivalent simply gets it done better (I'm in high tech). A bit of sheeple "stuff" does creep in there. That doesn't mean I don't carry one or have one close, though:) I keep an Al Mar SERE 2K and a Buck/Strider in my Maxpedition at my desk. Weekends, especially spring/summer/fall, I do prefer to have a larger blade on me - just works better here for the yardwork stuff and probably it will be a fixed blade instead of a large folder. Not always an Endura for the folder, but it's in the rotation.

I actually prefer the Delica over the Endura.

Now I did just get the new Endura 4 and it is a great knife. For general everyday carry in normal street clothes it will be my new EDC. The Endura makes a good self-defense knife yet can fulfill your everyday knife needs.

The Delica I have a soft spot for, as I carried one while in the Army. While the Delica can be used in a self-defense role, it always struck me as a better utility knife. The smaller size and less weight make it less obtrusive to carry. In the Army it was a great second knife to a small fixed blade or bayonet and self-defense was not an issue as I had a Beretta 92FS backed up by a squad of Infantry. For my job as a nurse now, it will carry in my scrubs without dragging them down like a heavier knife. I tried my Endura 4 as a EDC in scrubs - I was constantly aware of it through the day. Even though my Rescue 93mm is only a few ounces lighter, the Endura 4 was more noticeable.

Now I did mention "...will carry in my scrubs.." as I am currently without a Delica - A Spyderco Sin I believe. But I did not like the previous Delica & Endura's handle configuration as much as the original. With the new Delica 4 I am tempted to get one, but I am holding out for the Sprint run. My reasoning is that when I get my next new Delica 4 I might as well go all out and get the Blue handled, ZDP-189 steel, Sprint Run.

The wait is getting hard :)

For EDC I prefer the size of the Endura over the size of the Delica mainly for the size of the handle which I find offers a better grip. The actual size of the blade is less important to me.
