FRN modifications?

Is it possible to modify FRN? Like if there was a nasty spot on an FRN handle, could you dremel or sand it off?
And can it be polished?

I don't know how CRKT does it, but their zytel is very smooth in texture. You could sand a rough patch off, but you're gonna remove a lot of material.

It is very easy to grind, you might want to make a post in the shop talk form to see how well it responds to a high polish.
