I just saw that a plain edge black blade Spyderco Native is now $107. I am not calling names or complaining, it simply seems like it was not that long ago when the Native was a $40 knife. My natural finish with a S35VN blade is still in great shape. I better take good care of it!

USA made, s35vn, dlc. Those things are not cheap, especially dlc and USA made. Price seems reasonable to me.

That price was a special to win a Walmart contract. IIRC it didn't last past a year or two.

early natives used vg10 steel, and even aus10? then there were s30v natives... you sure you got s35vn for $40?? if so, that is the best deal ever imho

I thought the earliest Natives were Gin-1 and then CPM-440V.

I'm not shocked at the price. The new linerless S30V G10 Native 5 is around $145.

The all steel Native was aus10, there was a contoured handle Native made in Seki City that was vg10.

I did not say my S35VN Native was $40. It was around $80, but I remember those S30V Walmart Natives.

ah, ok, that makes more sense... it wasn't really clear. I'm north of the border, but a $40 s30v native sounds like an excellent deal also.

everything going up if you havnt noticed?

I am a purchaser at work and every time I order stuff it goes up about 3% and that's on a monthly bi monthly basis
