I recently (finally!) got a stainless Scorpius the other day. Can't say any more good things than have already been said.

But........if you will please make a G-10 or FRN version, I will be able to finally stop buying knives!

I know the Delica is similar in FRN in that price range, but it's not the SAME.

I love the ergonomics, handling characteristics and the sweeping edge.

Please???? ;)

old thread.... RISE FROM YOUR GRAVE!!!

anyway, i just got one of these today, finally! (thanks, rroper1!) i've been putting it off for so long, and now that i have one, it confirms all of my assumptions: this is a brilliantly designed, comfortable, and above all, strong folding knife. you don't hear much about the Scorpius very often; this thing has "sleeper" written all over it!

it's almost bizarre: open it, and your hand automatically conforms to its shape by reflex! your index finger instinctively slides into the choil, and your thumb moves behind the ramp on the spine of the blade as if by magic. i love it!

anyway, i agree with Leo; this would be an awesome candidate for G10 handles. maybe a different lock is necessary to fulfill this? man, that'd be great. black G10, keep the VG10 steel, and some nice steel liners. maybe the only downside would be having to thicken the handle to facilitate this. those of you who haven't handled the Scorpius yet, stop reading. go out and try one! wow, it's so slim, and yet so sturdy.

blah blah blah, i'm rambling. good stuff. anyone else interested in a G10 model?

The Scorpius is one of my favorites. It’s definitely a sleeper! :)

Choking-up on the handle (so your index finger is in the choil) feels really good. You can also grip it farther down for more of a “fighter” feeling. Your index finger presses against the curve in the handle like it was a sub-hilt.

I’m not sure if I’d want a different handle material. The stainless steel is really thin, yet hefty and strong. Maybe Micarta scales, no liners, and a full-length steel backspacer would be cool? It's already a great knife as it is though!

yes, been wanting a Scorpius for a awhile myself too. would very much like to see it in G10

Another vote for a G10 version. The Scorpius has become my EDC, replacing my much-loved Native.

don't get me wrong, i love the Scorpius as-is. i just would like to see the same characteristics applied to a different handle material. maybe they could thin the SS a smidge, and bolt on some G10, so it didn't end up much thicker?

either way, the Scorpius is IT, and i am still stunned at how little attention it seems to get. Sal, if you catch this, please pass on my appreciation to Eric: he's really got an eye for function!

I've been putting off getting a Scorpius for far too long. Every since I first saw it I knew that it would be a great carry piece.

I guess what stopped me is the fact that there isn't really any place around here for me to actually pick one up and try one out, so I'm concerned about the handle not working with my hands. I have pretty slender/longish hands, so sometimes a lot of knife handles that are comfortable for other people just don't work for me.

But I love the design. I'm a huge fan of finger choils and what's not to like about how the Scorpius looks? The blade is also a very practical shape and a very practical size.

Haha, how are your hands Abe? Maybe you can hold your hand up to your monitor and I can hold my hand up to my monitor, and if we concentrate
real hard I'll be able to see the imprint in comparison to my hand. :)

But yes, I agree that a G-10 Scorpius would be absolutely off the charts. (regardless whether or not it feels good in my hand, when I get around to picking one up :))What about a G-10 Scorpius with a ball lock? Oh my.

I'd like an FRN version, more likely to be ambi. Ofcourse, I certainly wouldn't stay away from a G10 version ;-)

i've been ogling my Scorpius this morning... this knife needs G10. it just makes sense. i see it being similiar and yet, unique to the design of the dodo, which uses G10. i am now thinking that perhaps the Scorp would've received a louder welcome had it been introduced in a different handle material.

if anyone else has a hankerin' for either FRN or G10 handle types, please chime in!
