Are rescue knife addicts such as myself going to be treated to a lightweight Rescue UKPK? I've really fallen in love with rescue knives, it would be great to have a low cost slipjoint as well!

Off-Topic,

Little update on my Spydercollection. Since I last posted, I got a new job.

I have both the 79 and 93mm Rescues. Too bad the bigger one doesn't come in safety orange. I have a Salt Saver on the way as well. The Meadowlark is still on EDC duty, I'm not quite sure when I'll get the balls to carry around the (relatively) expensive Rescues on the mountain.

Right now the shopping list includes the Ladybug II and maybe the Assist.

There is an orange lightweight UKPK in the 2010 catalogue along with the g10 version. And the 93mm did come in orange at one time, with the serration running right up to the tip like I prefer. They are still out there, I just got one last week.

Wow, Nice collection of rescues! what's the deal with the wharncliffe blue handled one? Is it a custom job?

Yep. It started out just like the second one down on the left hand side. I got it from someone else, but he said the grindwork was done by Steve Rice (STR), who has his own forum here. :D

I think he did a great job with it. It's a much better all around user with the pointier tip and the serrated blade with the partial straight-edge. :)
