From a Christmas high to a crushing low

I ordered a Vertical Air Bath 21 from Jen-Ken at the end of July. Today was my delivery day, and this is what showed up:

It was packaged very well, labeled very well, with tons of space and wooden framework to prevent damage. But....when you go about making something idiotproof, the only thing you can be assured of is that eventually a better idiot will surely come to surface. No idea how it happened. Don't care how it happened. I refused the delivery. 5 months of patient waiting down the toilet. I'm not looking for advice. I'm not looking for consolation. I definitely don't care to hear your "me too" stories that will just fuel my anger. I'm just sharing.

I'm so F*&%$#ing pissed off right now and have nobody and nowhere to direct it at. Not Jen-Ken's fault, and they'll repair & resend, or build a new one for me. Eventually. No telling how long that will take. Shipping carriers don't care, not even a little bit. This isn't isolated to my little instance here, but I've come to believe rather it's become endemic in our society. From UPS to Wendy's to our own wholly corrupted government, you name it. No pride. No effort. No real accountability. No real empathy. No firm resolutions. Just hollow placations and boilerplate customer service responses. If you bitch, you do so into the wind, and like pissing into the wind your results will be similar. I feel like a man much, much older than my years, shouting at clouds.

I had a beautiful and blessed Christmas weekend with my family, and this doesn't change any of that. But his kiln was going to be the bonus sprinkles on top of it all. Been a long wait, and I've put off projects so I could HT them in a kiln instead of forge. Trying to up my overall game, you know. Now what? Wasted time. Wasted time....

I only post this here for you guys because I know you'll probably get it. That's all. Frustrating. Thanks for reading. Spill a little extra bourbon for me on your next highball.

Hopefully Jen-Ken will expedite a re-ship.

The anger seems to pass a bit when the replacement arrives. Went through it a few months back. I almost posted a pic for ya, but figured...
 
Aren't you glad you were there to inspect and refuse delivery? Bummer - sure hope Jen-Jen does the right thing and doesn't get hung up on a "shipper's fault" type of conflict.
 
Terribly sorry for your loss....... I know how bad that sucks waiting for this.
I was going to email you over the Holidays , I know your next year will be better!!!
