My Hurak arrived today. Got a text from the missus that she took delivery of an odd looking package from France that she didn't remember buying . Good thing she was out when I got home, or else...

All rumors are true, this is indeed an outstanding knife with perfect form and fitment. The handle ergonomics is perfect (although admittedly a tiny bit too large for my hands; maybe I just have small hands); the contours are well executed; the crescent shape formed between the guard and the handle is not only aesthetically pleasing but also serves functions. The knife overall feels solid and heavy with a thick blade measured out at 0.295" at the ricasso. Beautiful hamon that has its own flow (anyone who knows the correct Japanese term for this please chime in). Useful jimping on top of the blade. Thick, simple, matter-of-fact but also very well made sheath from Jeremy of 8 Ball Leather. All in all everything in this package points to the fact that this knife was made to be used hard in the field, not to be another safe queen that only gets fondled once in a while.

Anyhow, without further adieu, here's the pictures. Pardon my lack of photography skills
