I love Internet ! Of course it helps me to stay in contact with my friends from the Porch, but not only.

This very well known pattern from Mikov is also a gift from my great provider of berets based in New-Zealand.
Knowing I'm a knife collector Daan sent me this knife as a gift.

To sum up, my New Zealander provider of ( Argentinian) beret send me, in France, a Czech knife as a gift. Isn't it incredible? Of course the carbon balance could be better, but the imagination balance is just fantastic ;)

I have bought a beret or three from your favorite dealer too, so there are at least a few of us odd ducks out there… though I live in the USA where such headgear is hard to come by. I’d think it’d be at least slightly easier to procure in mainland Europe??

Maybe we need a “Traditional knives and berets” thread!

You're right Eric, we have in France three very good producers and one of them is one of the best in the world ( La manufacture de Bérets) with somme great full hand made berets. And Spain is a great producer too.
But all are in wool and I'm a great fan of cotton berets , very difficult to find outside Argentina .

I’ve never tried a cotton one, though, the high heat of our summers has made me consider it more than once! I used to wear the Elosegui berets more or less exclusively until I discovered the lighter weight of the Bearnaise. Now the Basque berets only come out in wintertime.
