I was sent this picture of a great looking knife from Bill Burke. You can see a definite influence here, but it is a beautiful knife.

I made the mistake of posting the pictures of a knife made by Bill Buxton and saying it was made by Bill Burke. That is why I began this thread with the promise that this one is from Bondo, AKA Burke531/Bill Burke.

Nice, I'll bet that really fits in the hand great!
The blade for me would need to have the point lowered but the grind/edge looks to be done quite well, reckon she cuts well!

Thanks for the pic!

Keith,

I think in all fairness, you should have posted that one was made by Bill Buxton. Turn about is fair play.

BEAUTIFUL KNIFE, Bill B ????

I'm just kidding Keith. :D

Bill B ????

Very nice! Thanks for sharing with us, Keith. I've never had the opportunity to hold a knife like this, but it sure does look comfortable!:)

I've got something like that on order from Bill as well. I agree with Gary, pointier is better.

Michael,

what is the difference between the two Bill Burke Knives posted (images)? From listening to Ed Fowler speak at Blade West on the "high performance knife", he an Bill have a basic concept of design that they adhere to in blade shape, handle shape etc and particularly in the use of 52100 and the forging and heat treating they are currently using.

Maybe Bill can pipe up here and add more info. I too have decided to add one of his knives to my collection. Could have done so at Blade West but had to leave some room for a couple of shows I attended after BW.

A slightly pointier blade would be good, but I do like a lot of belly in my blades. That one posted by Michael looks fantastic.
