From customs to productions

I've gone the whole route from production knives to custom knives and now find myself coming back to productions, especially the Kershaws, and to narrow it done even further, to the ZT line of knives.

I only have the ZT0200 and ZT0500, but I want to get one more of each, along with a ZT0400 or two. Don't get me wrong as I really like the customs, but for the price of one custom I can get another ZT0200, ZT0500, and two ZT0400's. With the quality of the ZT series I don't feel slighted by having them instead of the custom knife. I do have a Strider Digicam Ghost AR on layaway, and am going to pick up another large Classic Sebenza with some lignum vitae inserts over the next two months. After those are taken care of I'm going to begin getting the ZT's mentioned above. After those I want to pick up the fixed blade ZT's along with a ZT0300 series knife. I guess what I'm saying is that I want to collect ALL the ZT's knives that have been made to date!

Anyone else feel this way about the ZT's, or Kershaw in general?

Nah, I don't like any of them.

I need to find one of those groups that sit around
and talk about their addictions.

Whoops, already here. They're sneaky.

yes, I do feel that need. I got $250 today (sold subwoofers) and tomorrow I'll have $100.

once I get more money, i get more knives, though my list is slightly smaller.

Yup, I want them all.
I really like my 0301 and I'd love to get some of those TAD short run variants.
I don't think you should put off getting the 300 'til the end, and if you were into customs definitely look into the TAD variants with the "battle swedge grinds", since Tim ground those himself.

I had ordered a 0301 at the same time I ordered my 0200, and for some reason could never "bond" with it. It has everything I like in a knife, but I just can't get used to the two different handle materials, and not just talking about the 0301 here, but all the knives built like that. For some reason I just do not like that way of building. Probably just my anal gene talking here.

But I do want to get one to fill out the set. I'll probably just stick to the standard models of the 0301, the one with CB handles and the RG handles. Good suggestion on the TAD series, but if I start going that route I will surely end up with a empty, empty, empty wallet and one can only eat peanut butter and jelly for only so long!!:D

I LOVE the look of the ZT knives, in particular the Strider colabs... but they are just too damn big for me. I like a 3" or less blade on a knife that's as thin as possible. Which is why I have come to like the Leek so much. A very classic simple design that's light, thin, just the right size, and available in a variety of looks.

Now if I saw a Leek (possibly a Random Leek) with a Strider style tiger blade and machined green or tan G-10 with a Ti frame lock I would buy it up in a second.
