I was planning on buying a paper wheel and decided to hold off. I believe that is propbably more advanced than im ready for..I am familiar with a smiths system similar to the lansky system,, Right now I am using the lansky system and I have alot of friends that ask me to sharpen there knifes so of course i do but its time consuming. I dont know how to us a free hand stone. just systems with a clamp. Im wondering what would be the best bet to get a razors edge a little quicker. My lansky is nice and im happy with it, maybe I just need more practice. I may not be so used to it yet being it still takes me around 1 hr to get a good edge with it( or that im happy with). I realize sharpening is an art, and that is the part that makes it a hobbie for me. I am willing to spend around 150 or so for a new kit. Maybe I dont need a new kit but just more practice. What do some of yall think. This web site is awesome and I have learned everything I know from reading from you guys. Thank you to each of you.
Also is there a sharpening section on here that im not seeing, If not I would love to see one.

You have come to the right place to learn about sharpening. I have and still use a Lansky. Just recently bought the Edge Pro Apex.

Speed will come with practice, although its not always wise to try to go too fast. My best results come when I take my time.

Same here slow wins the race what do u think about the apex don't u have clamp the blade over and over? Scratch tha I will youtube on how the edge pro works
