My grandson took a hand forged RR spike and went to work on it with hammer and anvil. This is what he turned out. Thought you all might like a look.



 
That is pretty cool, a bit small at the eye but I can see that being tough to make any bigger, with how little material there is there.
 
That is how a master craftsman is born. Absolutely awesome job, and great job on getting the little guy out there doing it grandpa!!!
 
Wow, I want one, I have about 27 rr spikes with hc stamped on them. One day I will be able to make one myself.. really nice work, good job!
 
Now that's a great idea. You could upset it in the middle to get more meat around the eye, and you could put a nail puller in the blunt end.
 
If it was cut off just a bit behind the eye, and a handle that didn't taper was put on, you would have an excellent little mouse hawk. Make three and you have an amazing little throwing set! OK I am getting too excited over this.
