the big one is ferhmans final judgment in 9.5 in. of 3v steel. the baby is a gerber silver knight in 2 in. blade. although the ferhman has seem several mesquite chopping sessions & some brush clearing the edge has only been stropped on the diamond paste loaded 18 in. ferhman leather. has been in sporadic activity since feb. 2010. still shaves leg hair. the gerber is no puny pal its excellent japanese steel would clean a deer if one took the time. i believe these 2 tools could handle most of the required spectrum of outdoor activities .dennis [ you might need some hooks & a little line]
