I have just receive the Knife moments ago...
It's great.... the end...

j/k....

To start it off, i am at work still so wont be able to post any picture till later when i get the chance, but would like to share some feelings of this knife.

I first noticed that the knife is neatly packed in the plastic bag, tucked nicely in the small white box in the USPS box. The knife actually came two days later than i expected. My previous knife that i bought overseas came around 5 days. This time, it took 8 days. Thank goodness that i was travelling and just got back last night and this knife really start off my work day a good one.

The knife is smaller than i expected. Though my other knives are longer than 3 inches and i have been thinking about a smaller EDC that i can carry compliment of my larger blade, such as my Large Seb or RJ Martin Over-Kill.

The finish on the Knife looks very rugged. Even though this is a custom grind,
it look like its meant to be used hard. I dont know if anyone will use a custom grind for hard use, but from the look of the knife, it will withstand pretty much whatever i throw at it.

I love my Overkill and Seb, but to be honest, i really dig this knife.
The feel in the hand is pretty good. Its small, but large enough for my hand.
Detent is pretty strong, but i flick the knife open with my thumb. I like it!!!

One thing i really want to say about this knife is... the blade is the sharpest knife that i own. I thought my seb was pretty sharp, then the Over-Kill stepped up and i was really impressed. Then, after i tried to shave some hair off my arm with the XM-18, i can notice that the hair just kind "scared" off.
I really don't know how to explain this, but this little knife really impress the heck out of me.

I would like to Thank Rob and Rick for the great opportunity to own this knife, and i really appreciate you guys throwing in the extra tab and clip. I did actually changed it right away to the blue Ano and the clip with knife tip-up.

I will keep my fingers crossed for the next opportunity to own another Hinderer folder. I know they are hard to come by, especially directly from Rob and Rick, but i will wait for that day.

Again, a big thank you to Rick for this terrific Knife, and another thanks to Rob for this great opportunity to own my first Hinderer folder. Hopefully soon,
i can share another wonder experience of a new Hinderer folder. I will try to take some pictures later and post them up as soon as i can. Thank you everyone!!!

Well.. here is the hansome devil that i received yesterday afternoon.
I would need to apologize to Rick, Rob and fellow members for the poor quality of the pictures to come.
i dont have the skill nor the equipment to really show the quality of the knife.

Here is one more.

just love the shining blade. Although sometimes i think about a stonewash blade so that i can do all those chopping and cutting without marking the blade.

The construction of the knife is impressive.

One comparison picture of the size of my bigger knives...OverKill, Seb and the XM-18.

Well... i have to admit, even though this knife is almost like a work-horse.
the perceived value of it, kind of place it into of a more versatile range.
I think the 3" XM-18 can also be looked at as a gentleman's knife. For me,
i am more sporty, out-going kind of person. So, this is my Gentleman's gear
with my family and relatives tonight. (picture without phone..)
Seafood... yum....

Have a great one guys. will try some more pictures when i get the chance.
maybe those will come out better.

Thanks for the kind words.
It's actually a genuine Offshore Volcano.
Other than love for knives, I love watches.
My favorite is my offshores but I have other nice pieces too.
I will share some pictures soon.
Best ken

Wow... People here are way too polite!! Where's all the "I hate you", "You suck" and "I'm jealous" posts???

Well, I guess I gotta pick up the slack...

Dayum! I hate you, you suck... and MAN, am I jealous!! ;);) :D

But seriously, Congratulations on a lottery win and a great score!!!:thumbup: Enjoy that sweet XM-18, brother! :)

Sorry buddy,

you must have been mistaken,
i DID express my hatred and jealousy toward our famed/infamous fellow member Mr. davidhR/T. He would deserve ALL of our deepest and darkest emotions.....

i would say almost all of his one-offs.. i have never seen, not to mention know that they even exist!!!!

I am a very lucky person and i do cherish this opportunity to have recieved this piece directly from Rick and Rob. I am more jealous of those who are able to attend Blade, and get the chance to meet Rick and Rob in person and maybe have the opportunity to buy the knive that is consider one of the best in the industry.

yes, the 3" is a very nice piece. Cannot stop opening and closing it.
Now...its time to beg Rick and Rob for a new hand grind 3.5" flipper or a XM-24 flipper.

Hi kenkls -

Congrats on the win of a fine looking knife!

Your pictures do show it off well. Thanks!

Can you tell me what kind of wallet you have in your picture?

Thanks and best regards -

mqqn

Dear Mqqn,

its actually not a wallet,
its a credit card holder from Tod's.
its a leather brand. Their products are quite soft and durable.
Their shoes and handbags are pretty nice...

I carry cash sometimes with a small Kiss-knife as a money clip.
or just cash. I rarely use wallets anymore...
hope it helps.

Hi Kenkls,

congratulations to you scoring a sweet XM-18!!!

Thank you for sharing pic!!!

You have OverKill and XM-18 at the same time,Can you talk about both for you control feel?such as handle,blade...

Thanks a lot!

NADAN

Well, to start off, they are totally different knives.
the first obvious difference is that mine xm-18 is not a flipper
second is the size, one is 3" another is 4" blade.
blade shape is different too, would call for different applications.

my XM to me, is like a little light-sabre....i totallly love it
if you have questions about the RJ... shoot me a pm.

HI kenkls -

Yes - thanks! I do not carry a wallet and would like one of those card holders to EDC.

Thanks again for the pics.
