Front Line Knives

Knifekits.com used to sell a kit that looks exactly like the Front Line knife you linked to. I suspect they are buying the kit from the same people that used to produce them for knifekits and finishing them out themselves - hence the hand finished ad.

These kits were made in Taiwan but they are excellent quality (cryogenically treated AUS 8 blades)with a very good fit. The two pictured below from the knifekits.com gallery are highly embellished and show how good one of these knives can look when a talented kit builder works his magic on it it.

Before Benchmade Knife Company, Inc. appropriated this common term, "benchmade" referred to a knife made completely on a workbench, rather than pieced together on an assembly line. The deception is not on the part of those using it in the original sense. :)
