Front Serrations

I've discovered the new Boker Direkt, which I'm excited about for one main reason: the combo blade has the serrations on the front half instead of the back half. It makes more sense to me to have them placed up front and I've been hoping someone would start making them that way.

However, I'm not a huge Boker fan. Does anyone know of any other makes/models with this feature? I'd like to be able to choose between a few options.

Thanx.

I love the Idea. Only Fully serrated knives have that. a CRKT has one with serrations on the Front tanto tip. I think they got the Idea from a Busse model on the front page of the Bad MoJo Page. So check CRKTs I know it's on atleast one madel.

CRKT also has some models with a serrated front blade, but plain edge in the back.

For self defense and emergency work, this makes sense. Then, if you need to cut wood or strips, you can easily do with with the plain back section.

I keep hoping these big bumpy type serrations will vanish on knives and that they'll become smaller and more utilitarian, like Cold Steel's pattern.

Serrations are lousy for wood cutting, though, and I like knives with long blades that contain both. Putting them up front is a great idea.

TOPS does it on there tactical steak knives and I think years ago someone on the sight was offering serrations custom cut on you knife in the front, middle or back. keepem sharp

I was just going to mention the victorinox pieces. Anything combo edge by them has them in front.

www.888knivesrus.com will put serrations on a knife - call them to ask if they will put them on the front of the knife.
I had them add them to a Kershaw Junkyard Dog .
They have a goo pattern.

I have a Vic Bundeswehr model OHT and a Swiss tool (fully serrated sheepsfoot blade). While I like traditional partially serrated knives to have aggressive serrations (plain front, aggresive serrations in the rear)- the serration pattern on the vics is part of what makes them more tolerable. They are enough to do what serrations are desired for, but they are not so aggressive as to prevent slicing.

Hey Guys..

Either Fully Serrated or plain..

I Loved the Serrations on the tip of my Vic OHT that I ground them off..Possibly the worst idea even put onto a knife...
