I never made a bowie so this is my first one forged out of 16th century piece of wrought iron wall cramp, they use them to keep the wall and stones together on old buildings here in the Netherlands.
I forge welded a piece of high carbon steel on the edge cause otherwise the wrought iron would be to soft to keep an edge on the knife..
Did some etching on it so you can see the impurities in the wrought steel.
The guard is hand forged red copper with hammer stroke pattern, a piece of buffalo horn and scales from desert iron wood with red copper pins.
Second knife is a smaller one, forged out of a C100/wrought iron damascus.
All materials are leftovers from other knives.
Scales from 2 pieces of stabilized camel bone with red copper pins.
