This one I forged out of lots of left over pieces of damascus, there's some ladder pattern 1084/15n'20, cable, chain, some twist, some other frontier damascus. Folded a few time and forged to shape.

5" blade, 3/16 thick at gaurd fully tappered to tip, 3/8" ricasso, nickle silver gaurd, antique paper mycarta handle. One of these days I'm going to have to break down and get some real ivory to play with!

Nice Will. I love that "frontier" damascus stuff, just did a couple myself. Very nice work.

Thanks, first time I used all high layer and didn't add any larger bits of steel to the mix. Trouble is I used up all the left over pieces of damascus, guess I'll just have to make some more and screw up some more to restock.

I used ferric cloride mixed 1 to 5 with water for the etch

Will,

Very cool blade. I took at the pic before I read the "ingredients" and said to myself "self, there are quite a few different materials in that one, very cool, and I really like the handle, hmm, I'll have to check the specks on this one", that's what I said to myself. I do like the paper macarta, even though I've never used it in a knife, not that I've finished any knives....lots of blades...no handles or guards.
