I'm not really sure what category this would fall into. I think it could go either way between fighter or bowie. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. The knife is 3/16" D2 with Alabama damascus guard and pommel, stag handle with a mild steel pin. The sheath is deerskin rawhide wrapped over a veg. tanned liner and stitched with linen cord and the welt is held with the addition of cut copper tacks. It has a beaver tail leather throat and dyed veg. tanned leather belt loop. It also has buckskin fringe with copper cones, horsehair and brass and glass beads.

Critiques are welcomed.

Mr. Ward's photo is obviously much better than my own.

I think it falls into the "frikkin awesome" category:D
Nice work:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks guys, this is one of those knives that I won't be too sad to keep if I don't find a buyer. I had Chuck Ward take a professional picture of this one. When I get it from him I'll try to post it here. I have no doubt that his pictures will be better than mine.

I have to extend a thank you to John Cohea for all of the instruction on making rawhide sheaths. I'm not sure I'd have had the nerve to start making this style of sheath without his online tutorial and the instructional DVD he offers.

Thanks for looking and a big thank you for the comments.

The sheath rocks. I can't believe you haven't done that before. My first look @ it was the sheath. I've seen this knife in the for sale listings, you should show more of the sheath there!

Looks "frikkin awesome." I think that the gargantuan guard had something to do with my initial awe.
