This is my version of a frontier style camp knife. ..if the frontier had a buffer.
Specs are as follows:
OAL- 10.5" with 6" blade
Steel - 3/16" 1095 at ~ 58rc
Bolsters - 416 stainless is pinned, soldered and dovetailed
Handle - Black Walnut with 416 stainless pins and Tru Oil finish

This knife had some firsts for me so I really enjoyed doing it.

Looks like you need to sharpen it!:p:D

Seriously, though, I love the knife. Great work.

Nothing about this knife tells me it is a frontier style:Dbut everything about it tells me it is a very nice piece of work:thumbup::thumbup:!

Thanks everyone.

John, I certainly see your point. Especially compared to your fine work
on truly authentic pieces. However, with my more modest skills the
coffin-ish handle and semi-decorative pin placement were an attempt
to portray a modern knife with a frontier flair. I truly appreciate your critique
and your compliment.

Thanks again to all who commented,
David

David,I'm glad you saw my post for what it was, which was a compliment to what I feel is truly fine work, and not a dismisal at a look at which you are trying(and sucessfully)portrayed!
